IconIQ GreenFab

IconIQ GreenFab

Bringing back PV to Europe

Based on EU technology

The IconIQ GreenFab consortium takes a different approach towards Solar Module manufacturing. Changing the current trend, we will start producing in the EU!

Based on EU-invented and developed technology, the market entry is secured by the commitment of leading EU production partners. And powered by selected raw materials and system components from Europe.

The EU focus of the Iconiq GreenFab consortium

01

Extend Module Production

Using EU manufactured equipment, robotised and automated. Creating 3000 jobs in the EU directly and 15.000 jobs indirectly.

02

Support Materials Supply Chain

Conductive backsheets, encapsulants, cell technology, conductive adhesives, solar glass. All made in Europe. Lowering CO2 pressure on production and logistics.

03

Durable approach only

Lead-free cell-interconnect, fluor-free backsheet, PFAS-free base materials, improved lifetime.

04

Exploit proven technologies

Back-contact module technology from TNO (The Netherlands) and IBC-cell technology from ISC Konstanz (Germany).

Energyra Europe

Netherlands

Energyra will bring back PV Module manufacturing to Europe and has built a new production facility in the Netherlands starting the production in 2020. We use the most innovative solar cell and module technology and apply the highest degree of robotisation. Strongly focused on EU know how, technology and the responsible use of materials, secured by the commitment of leading EU research, material- and equipment partners.

TNO

Netherlands

TNO Solar Energy (formerly ECN) works with companies and universities to develop new technology for solar cells and modules, and has played a leading role in the industrialisation of the back-contact solar module technology. TNO’s focus is to improve designs and process technology to realise further cost reductions, performance increases and create better opportunities for integration of PV in our living environment. TNO also works with its partners to develop novel, highly efficient solar cell architectures and aesthetically pleasing module designs.

ISC

Germany

The International Solar Energy Research Center Konstanz (ISC Konstanz) researches and develops crystalline silicon solar cells, working closely together with leading enterprises and research institutes in the field. ISC evaluates new, cost-efficient silicon raw materials and optimises existing production steps and machinery. Moreover ISC develops new technologies for industrial solar cell production and innovative solar cell and module concepts.

DSM

Netherlands

Royal DSM is a global, purpose-led science-based company in Nutrition, Health and Sustainable Living. DSM develops sustainable technologies that boost solar performance worldwide, from coatings for solar glass to next-generation backsheets for solar modules.
